Luc Besson, well-known french film director, fell in love with Amorgos and it was here that he shot most of his wonderful film "Le Grand Bleu".

The film tells the story of two men, their strong passion for skin-diving and their differing ways of approaching this extreme sport.

The blue of the sea, the cliffs, the incredible surroundings and the architecture of the place formed an ideal background for this story of human spirituality and values.
